ONE OF THE OLDEST ACTIVE COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS

South Midwood Residents' Association was founded in 1901, just three years after Brooklyn and the other boroughs became part of New York City.  Incorporated under the New York State Not-for-Profit Corporation Law in 1925,
it is one of the oldest active community organizations in the country. Meetings are held up to four times a year. Membership in the organization is open to any person living in the area known as South Midwood as shown on the map.
